AUSTINE

When I first met Austin at Nairobi Children’s home, he was wearing maroon high socks, a bright orange reflective vest, and a beanie. I soon found that he wore this every day even if it was 85 degrees out.  Austine is incredibly determined.  When he saw Daniel reading at Nairobi Children’s Home, he would ask for a book so that he could read too. Austin would flip through the pages pretending to read.

Updates from 2024:
Austine is in his second year of college at Thika Technical Polytechnic where he is studying food and beverage management. Like several of the other boys, he also hopes to get a job in the tourism industry after he graduates. Outside of school, he loves playing soccer and listening to music on his phone.
